Weekends were made for friends
I managed to finish an autograph type block for a friend. I am basically on time, but I think the deadline was May 15. I will get it into the mail for her tomorrow. The beaded dragonfly is done on copper wire with irridescent seed beads and crystals, with one matte bead in the middle. The letter R is done in shadow work. I stuck a faux pearl spider in the middle of the silk ribbon rose bouquet. Actually, I spent a lot of time on the seam treatments and will probably chart them. Finally, I added an enameled Winnie-the-pooh pin.

Yesterday, Cynthia started the "Drawn Delights" class for Mississippi NeedleArts, our local EGA Chapter. It went well, but we will definitely have to meet again to complete the project. I felt crappy. It took a giant cup a coffee, some Zyrtec-D, Excederin Migraine and a little time before I started to feel human again. I decided to make my doodle cloth into an ATC. I already have several made and should be on track to have one for everyone who participates in the CyberStitchers Artist Trading Card Exchange.
I need to start a to-do list for my new found retirement. I know that it will take a little while for me to get past the decompression phase, then I will need to work on getting things done and exerting a certain amount of self-discipline. Plus there are all of those little things like a tune-up for my car, replacing the garage door opener, cleaning out the garage, calling the exterminator, getting a grill for the backyard, etc.

Congratulations on your retirement. Also, I love the embroidered piece you made for your friend. Wonderful work.
