Every Day Matters: Challenge 66
On my first real day of retirement, I started to sketch assignments from Every Day Matters (EDM).
I also went to the gym so I could swim. I can not believe how out of shape I have gotten in the last five years. It is just crazy. I was completely worn out by time I got home. After another shower, I cleaned up for a little while, then decided to head down the street to draw a fire hydrant. On my way back, I attempted to draw the entryway to my house. I was much happier with the hydrant than the front of the house. I also included a scan of a Polaroid of my brother Carl and my nephew David that has been on my refrigerator for many years. It is one of my favorite photos.
Last night I volunteered to serve out the rest of the TVR Education Chair's term, because she is moving out of the region. I have to say, it was good a case of good timing, combined with the fact that I was already helping Mary with the big education project.
Oh, and tomorrow is my first oil painting class, and I am really looking forward to it.

Congratulations on your retirement! It sounds like you already have several things planned to enjoy your time away from regular schedules. Good for you for starting swimming and a new painting class!
Your fire hydrant is very nicely done, too.
SUPER SUPER JOB!! CONGRATS ON RETIREMENT!
Wow! Excellent drawing!
Very nice sketchwork...Looks like your days will be quite full and fullfilling. You're doing great with your artwork.
Oooo! Cute Guys! Thanks for sharing.
You've had fun with your sketching, and I love that fire hydrant. They always look better than architectural details cause they are round. Round is the best shape. You will have fun slinging that paint. You will like the oils, plus they smell really nice. The thinner is smelly though. heehee
Retirement is good. :o)
