EDM Challenges 65, 62 & 36: Sketch and Kvetch at the Ag Museum
I guess I don't have any qualms about drawing in public. I have done it a number of times and really have not had a bad experience. Yesterday after the Chimneyville Weavers and Spinners Guild Meeting, Karin and I stuck around to draw after the program on woven pins. I worked a little more on EDM 65(noses). There are several guild members noses floating around on the page with a couple of ill-timed sketches of my dogs noses. One member was still for a few minutes and I added in a few more facial features. I might flesh this one out more later. It was hard to sketch people surreptitiously, but it was also great fun.

This was a bird house on the grounds of the Ag Museum. I sketched it in pencil first, then tried it with my new Faber Castell Pitt Artist Pens. I am definitely still at the stage where I am only comfortable with an erasable medium. I hope to overcome that with time. I am just such a neophyte!

I enjoyed getting out and sketching in public, mostly because it was nice to hang with Karin and see what she was doing. I got to see gauche being used for the first time and we got to giggle because I had gotten the exact same kind of art pens she had, just fewer of them! I hope I can convince her to do this again some time.

It was fun, wasn't it? You won't have a hard time convincing me. :)
I've really enjoyed your sketches. What is the name of the challenge book that you're using and where did you get it? (if you don't mind my asking.)
Monica, there is a list of the challenges on the Yahoo Group Every Day Matters. There is a link to Danny Gregory's site on the right side of this blog, and he has a link to the Yahoo group.
Thanks!
