My spare battery was charged!

After another day without electricity, I was so excited to discover that my spare battery had been charged before I tucked it away in my laptop case! I spent part of the day shopping, because there was nothing to here. We went to a bookstore, a shoe store, Michael's, TJ Maxx and Marshall's. Well, we both went to the bookstore then my poor long suffering husband drove me to those other places and sat in the car reading his new books. As a thank you, I did buy the man something, a few new pair of boxers actually.

Then we made our way home and despite everyone else in the city seeming to be okay, when you turn into our neighborhood, the only things glowing were the gas lights. We came in, unloaded my booty, then sat around looking at one another. It was raining and overcast again, so after a few minutes, I decided to help energize the economy and set out on my own to shop some more.

I tried another shoe store, this time nothing appealed to me, which is probably good, because I have an indecent number of shoes even after donating a slew of them to charity. Then I tried Dress for Less, again, nothing appealed to me. This is not really a big surprise, since I have bought precious little clothing since just before my wedding, nearly three years ago. I think it is the whole weight thing. I have been in denial since gaining weight when my thyroid trouble started. But today, I started looking around Kohl's and actually bought a bunch of odd and ends on deep clearance.

When I got back, the power was still off, so I sent my husband off to pick up some Indian food. More later, of course.
