No electricity, no phone, no internet ...
Not a single luxury...like Robinson Cursoe... as primitve as can be.....:-)
We are on a boil water advisory, but with no power, well...you get the picture. Jackson Public Schools will be closed until after Labor Day.
If you are wondering how I made this post, it is because I worked through the hurricane until 7 PM and reported back at 7 AM. It will be some time before power and phone are restored at my house, or so I hear. I have not seen my other house in Ridgeland, the one that is going on the market soon. At least we are all alive and well.
I am most worried about Cyn and her family, they were right in the path of the eye of the storm. I am just hoping that they can't get through for the same reasons that I can't get through. I sure wish she had come up here to ride out the storm. I won't be settled until I hear from her.
I promise to have photos soon if I can.

I'm so glad you posted Rissa! You've been in my thoughts. I'm glad to hear you made it through safely.
Glad to hear that you are getting through this. You are in our thoughts Rissa, please stay safe.
Rissa (rhyming with Lisa) - we are so glad you are safe. We have friends in Memphis and haven't heard from them. Question: how can we send you a package--and in addition to your spindle, can we send anything to you at the same time? (toilet paper, etc)
doh - that last one was from us-- Jeanne and Paul
I know you have bigger fish to fry and water to boil -- stay safe....but in the world of fiber, your T-notch Briar Rose and beaded wheel-hook and....a present (not toilet paper unless you ask)...how can we send them to you? They won't be ready until the end of the week, but can we send them to your home?
Good to hear you are safe. I hope that you get your power back soon. So much devistateion for so many people. Please keep us up to date with how you are doing.
Prayers and hugs
Shay
Hi there -- I'm glad to see everything is still okay. After my post I called my friend and she was home, with electricity and all--hardly a drop of rain, and they are only about 1 hour west of Memphis in Arkansas. After that conversation, I decided to see the devestation on the news this morning (we don't watch TV as a practice) and I saw how insensitive/naive my comments were -- I'm sorry. I'm glad you are safe and we'll be checking your blog. J
I'm so happy to see that you're doing OK! Work must be totally crazy right now with everything else that is going on. There are so many of us sending good thoughts to your part of the country right now.
Take care!
Abi
Rissa, We are so happy that you and Ben are OK? Do you need anything?
