Double Monday
Why is it that the Tuesday after a long weekend is like a double Monday? It was a busy and crazy day at work!
I scanned a sample of the beautiful mixed purples I knit up last night. :-) The photo doesn't do it justice, it is just YUMMY.
I was able to get about thirty minutes of spinning in at lunch, which was the only peace I got all day! I have almost of spindle full of the green variegated fluff from the swap. The staple is really long, but I am getting used to it now. Joan was trying to get me to correct my drafting to prevent balling the roving, but it felt good, so I did not want to change anything. But I did break the roving up a little so that it would not get caught up into my spindle. I think I need a wrist distaff. I have the last issue of SpinOff, so there really is no excuse. Time to make one. LOL
I also took all my eBay packages to work with me this morning, all stacked neatly onto my rolling cart, then finally made my way to the post office substation at afternoon break and $25+ later, everything was shipped. LOL I am starting to remember why I quit selling a few years ago...I was losing money!

Rissa, that really is "yummy" -- good work. Again, you impress me with your work -- such attention. Is there a knitting store near you? You may want to stump(work -- har har) your knitting wares there. People love to have a real-live person from whom they get their yarn. And it's cheaper than ebay fees. Perhaps you can rent a shelf at the store? --jeanne (www.simplemarketfarms.com)
Pshaw. :-) It was yarn build-up, store-bought stuff that I have too much of to possibly use. I won't be able to make enough of my own yarn to sell...well not for a long time. But I have a truly shocking backlog of yarn, even after a big purge when I started moving into my studio (last November). I have been hoarding yarn since I was in college. :-D
it does look good! is this your handspun? yummy, yummy!
Yes, the photo is of a knitted swatch of the hand-dyed merino roving I bought from Kae/Faerylady Fibers. :-)
Hey Rissa, nice fiber! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I will be visiting yours from now on as well. Love the fact that you are a needleworkin' extraordinaire! Me too and proud of it...
I really love the way this roving turned out. Your knitted swatch is lovely.
Your swatch of handspun is gorgeous! You need a wheel! ;)
